A framework for learning
PO Clinics provide a health check for newly practicing product owners. Facilitated by experienced Scrum trainers, guides and coaches the clinics are a place to come to share your struggles, offer ideas, explore different approaches to the work, listen to learn from one another, and become rejuvenated and confident in your work.
Each clinic runs for two hours and is restricted to sixteen participants. These online, interactive experiences are facilitated by two or more trainers, coaches and mentors from the international Scrum community. Each clinic will use a learning backlog which is populated by those in attendance, based on their learning needs at the time. Through attendance at the clinics participants will consolidate their learnings; build community with other product owners, offering mutual support and encouragement. Each participant will have a clear understanding at the end of each clinic what they need to be working on next, both through self-study, mentorship and experience in the workplace.
The spirit of these clinics will be one of camaraderie, team creation and continuous improvement. Participants will be encouraged to support one another, to pair on learning objectives, and to develop their own abilities to assess and offer critical, compassionate feedback.
Through regular attendance at these clinics it is hoped the participants will not only become better product owners, but generally more aware and more awake—thoughtful citizens of the workplace and activists for change.
This is a non-profit venture, staffed by volunteers. However, a fee of £5 is requested to reserve your place. This helps to ensure commitment to attendance. Proceeds from these events will be donated to Restoke, a community dance and art project in the midlands of England.
