Welcome to my Newsletter

This time last year I was here—Idaho Falls, USA. I had a six month contract with a company that built security software. Gentle people, but a brittle company. It was one of those Agile impositions, a painted facade on a deeply embedded command and control culture. Agile caused a lot of pain. A few people glimpsed the promise of a beautiful future, and those were the people I was drawn to, creating our own small rebellion, doing our best to speak truth to power. And it was cold. So cold. This picture was taken when the temperature had dropped to -17º C. And this was just the first snowfall. It got colder.

So, a year later much has changed. My family, wife Rayna, daughters Asrai and Zoë, and I waved goodbye to a declining USA and relocated to the UK...just in time for Brexit! Interesting era. We are located now in Twickenham and weaving ourselves into the community, discovering schools, faith communities, adult education, socialising with new friends and neighbours and and, of course, enjoying free health care, public transport, walking to the shops, and reading newspapers that make sense.

And just so you know why you received this email—I took the liberty of subscribing you as you've taken one of my workshops, met me at an event, or enquired about my work. I understand if you'd prefer to unsubscribe. No offence taken. However, if you do chose to stay, rest assured I'll be sending this newsletter no more frequently than monthly. It will contain a little personal news, a few thoughts on what's going on in the world of work—and perhaps beyond—and a listing of my upcoming workshops and recent writings. Like this...
