The Scrum Exchange is an open event aimed at all those involved in, or intrigued by Scrum and other Agile practices.  The theme of the event, Agility in Motion is intended to promote the idea that Scrum and Agile need to be experienced, not taught.  The event will allow for the exploration of new ways of thinking and learning about being Agile.  This will be achieved through experiential and interactive workshops, rather than traditional presentation methods.  Come with an explorer's mind, and be willing to step beyond your comfort zone.

Tracks and Events

Scrum Starter: This track is targeted at Scrum newcomers looking to understand the underlying principles and practices that define Scrum.  In line with the theme of Agility in Motion, each topic will be introduced by way of an exercise or experience.  A group discussion will follow each exercise with plenty of time for questions and exploration.

Advanced Methods: This track will feature workshops intended to explore the less-discussed and more far-reaching aspects of Agility, e.g. human computer interaction (usability), customer involvement, management and product ownership.

Agile Interactive: A set of workshops dedicated to facilitation skills, teamwork, organizational development and group dynamics.

Scrum Clinic: The event will feature the first ever "Scrum Clinic", where individuals or teams can book consulting time with a Certified Scrum Trainer to discuss individual concerns and ask questions.  This valuable service is included in the admission price. Attendees will be able to sign up for a session in advance.

The Agile Playground: A space for facilitators to experiment with, and share training ideas.  New facilitators are especially welcome here.  This is a safe place to try out new ideas, and get feedback from more experienced practitioners.   Everyone is a presenter in this space, and everyone is a participant.

Dialog Room: A special room will be set aside where those not attending sessions can meet, network, talk, argue, pace, create artwork, write poetry and eat snacks. Some of the activities will be loosely facilitated, but mostly the time spent in this room will be pure self-organization.

Social Gathering: There will be a reception on the Thursday evening with drinks and hors d'oeuvres. A special talk, "The State of Scrum" will be given by Ken Schwaber, co-founder of Scrum and author of the two essential Scrum books, Agile Project Management with Scrum and Agile Software Development with Scrum.

Workshop Facilitators

We are happy to have some of the leading Scrum trainers and practitioners hosting workshops at this event. Working alongside them will be a number of guest facilitators from the Agile world and beyond, each bringing his or her own special expertise to blend into the world of Scrum. The combination of these different styles and approaches promises to make this an exciting and cutting-edge event.

Scrum Trainers and Practitioners All Certified Scrum Master Trainers and Practitioners are listed on Ken Schwaber's Control Chaos web site.
